How to Get to the Retreat Centre

By car: Leave the M 50 at junction 11. Take the N81 Westwards towards Tallaght and Blessington. Turn right at the first small roundabout. Turn left at the next roundabout. (Note the large roundabout of junction 11 and these two small roundabouts are very close together). Continue along this road for about a mile, then straight through a set of traffic lights (Unicare pharmacy at the corner). You are now at the corner of the Priory. Continue straight for about 50 yards, and you will see the Church on the right. Enter as though you were coming to the Church, but cross the main Church car park diagonally. The Retreat House is a detached building with a glass porch at the top of a short flight of steps and ramp.

By Luas. This is the best way from Heuston or Connolly Stations, and from Busarus. Get off the Luas at the Square, which is the last stop. It is normally possible to catch a taxi to the Priory from there, or the nearby Square centre. The cost is about 6 Euros. Ask for the Priory church in Tallaght village, and then follow the directions through the car park in the previous paragraph.

Walking from the Luas : About 12-15 minutes, and best avoided if you have heavy bags. Begin walking in the same direction as the Luas was going when it stopped. You will come to traffic-light controlled crossroads with a dual carriage way. Continue straight across, and follow the line of the road. The road bends to the right. You should have the Institute of Technology on your left, and the old protestant church and graveyard on your right. Then you will see a high stone wall on your left. This is the Priory garden. Continue around the outside, passing Murphy’s pub on the corner. Turn left here. The next entrance in the wall is the Priory Church . Enter as though you were coming to the Church, but cross the main Church car park diagonally. The Retreat House is a detached building with a glass porch at the top of a short flight of steps and ramp.

By Bus : Many buses go to Tallaght, but the most convenient are the 65, 77, or 77A from Eden Quay. College Green is also a good place to catch Tallaght buses. Ask the bus driver or another passenger to let you know when you get to Tallaght Village. There are two bus stops in the Village, and first one is probably a little nearer the Retreat House. Ask for directions to the Priory Church, as the Retreat House is little known in the area. Enter as though you were coming to the Church, but cross the main Church car park diagonally. The Retreat House is a detached building with a glass porch at the top of a short flight of steps and ramp.
